Sheep on parade in Savile Row to promote British wool
The oldest and original Romney Society. One of the first sheep breeders societies in the United Kingdom, if not the world. Incorporated in 1895 it was originally established to record and register pedigree Romney breeding stock.
The Romney, or sometimes Kent, breed not only has a rich history but a strong future. It is rapidly becoming the breed choice for producers seeking stock for a more sustainable and efficient production system.
The Society today continues the role of register whilst promoting the breed, coordinating sales, marketing and taking part in the active and continual improvement of Romney Sheep.
Easy to manage and shepherd. An excellent mother with lambs that "get up and go" on indoors or outdoor systems. Good value for money, a long flock life and high cull value, giving low ewe depreciation.
